RD Petroleum sponsoring the Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon
The event was a huge success, with 4000 people taking part in the event. The event, which started 12 years ago with just 200 runners has grown into something full of fun, excitement, music, and laughter. Not only that, but the event has helped raised $60,000 for Bowel Cancer New Zealand.
Bowel Cancer is the second highest cause of cancer death in New Zealand but can be treated if it is detected and treated early. New Zealand has one of the highest rates of bowel cancer in the world, with around 3,000 kiwis affected every year. Many people are unaware that each year, it affects more kiwis than breast and prostate cancer combined.
Events like the Saint Clair Vineyard Half Marathon are crucial to helping raise funds and increase the awareness of Bowel Cancer in New Zealand. It may be a great day for a bit of fun and for a real challenge, but it’s also about educating people, and hopefully, with education, more awareness around Bowel Cancer we will see an increase in early detection and treatment.
Now is the time to register for next year!
