Every Thursday, we're handing the camera over to the people who know our roads best, our drivers. Each week one of the team sends in their favourite shot from a delivery, and we share it here along with a bit about where it was taken and what they were up to.
This week's shot comes from Ricky, on the road through the Devil's Staircase, Queenstown.
Driver: Ricky
Route/Location: Devil's Staircase, Queenstown
Delivery: Fuel transport
Ricky caught this one at dusk, with Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding mountains lit up as the light faded. The Devil's Staircase is one of the more well-known stretches of road in the region, a winding cliffside route above the lake that's not for the faint of heart, especially with a full tanker in tow.
It's a good example of the kind of driving skill this job asks for day to day, on top of just getting the fuel where it needs to go.
