RD Petroleum attending Ranfurly Dine & Dance

RD Petroleum are excited to be attending the upcoming Dine and Dance at Ranfurly Hotel. The event is to help the Maniototo Health Services. You might have seen in the news that the Maniototo hospital needs an estimated $5.5 million to complete its rebuild. In June, the Central Otago District Council agreed to put $2 million towards the project, which is fantastic, and Maniototo Health Services have committed $2million to the project already so far. $400,000 from previous fundraising and donations have already been made, but the project is obviously still short.

The previous Ranfurly Dine and Dance was a huge success in raising money for the project, so we’re all hoping this year is a big success too. RD Petroleum have booked out a table, there will be an auction and entertainment. There’s still tables available, it’s on Saturday, September 2nd, 7.30pm. Running over three days from Friday October 27^th, the festival launches with a grand opening night at the Atheneum Hall on the Friday. Joe Bennett, one of New Zealand’s most read writers, is one of the main attractions, and RD Petroleum are the main sponsor of the opening night. Over the weekend there will be ten workshops that cover areas like printmaking, painting, the Otago landscape, music, writing, sculpture, film, and crafts.

The Arrowtown Spring Arts Festival celebrates the talents of local artists and provides an opportunity for people to learn from the best tutors around. There’s a wide range of workshops, talks and events to be a part of. Arrowtown is stunning any time of year and Spring brings out some beautiful scenes to capture through paint, photography or to inspire a piece of sculpture. The festival is run by the Arrowtown Creative Arts Society.

The Rakaia Springston Trophy is held from the 6^th – 8^th of October, at the Rakaia Domain and riverbed. The Springston Trophy is the largest pony club team event in the South Island. It gives young riders a taste of competition at championship level, and an opportunity to build friendships that can last a lifetime.

RD Petroleum are happy to be sponsoring an event with such a long history behind it – the Springston Trophy was started in 1972 and top competitors in the competition have been the likes of Mark Todd and Charisma!

A new cross-country course is going to be unveiled this year. It will be a great asset to the area, and the riding community around the South Island.

Open to pony club branches throughout the South Island, we’re proud to be sponsoring the event as it fosters equestrian sport in the South Island and is a fantastic experience for our young riders.

The Caroline Bay Rock and Hop is on again in Timaru, 16^th-18^thMarch 2018. Early bird vehicle registration tickets are just $35. A celebration of cars and rock-and-roll style, the event is run by Hospice, South Canterbury. There's even a chance to win a brand-new Mustang V8 at the 2018 event!

It’s a good old-fashioned weekend of fun, with a cruise to Geraldine on Friday, and crowds coming out on Main Street, Timaru, to see all the cars, on Friday night. Saturday is a gala day, with cars parked up for showing and judging in Caroline Bay. Sunday is a cruise to Oamaru via Waimate. There’s also ‘Wearable Parts’ and ‘Best Dressed’ fashion events, along with bands, stalls and rock-and-roll parties on over the weekend.

Southern Field Days is arguably the biggest farming event in the Southland farming calendar, with over 40,000 visitors and over 800 exhibitors from across New Zealand and Australia. The event runs from February 14th-16th and is based in Waimumu (12kms from Gore). Adults are $20 while the kids are free.

If you’re involved in farming in any way, this event should be in your diary. It’s the best event to see the latest in equipment, technology and ideas available to farmers and rural businesses.

The Wanaka A&P show is one of the South Island’s most popular agricultural and pastoral shows. RD Petroleum will be there at site F7. Come say hello!

The Wanaka A&P show is on March 9-10^th this year. Set on the beautiful shores of Lake Wanaka, it’s big! With over 450 trade stalls, and 35,000 people attending each year. It’s a great opportunity for anyone in the agricultural industry to learn about the latest in technology and services.

There’s so much on over the weekend for all the family! Entertainment, shopping, food and wine, animals and competitions.
